Singapore Entry Requirements for Indian Travellers
Entering Singapore as an Indian traveller involves three separate items at three different stages of your trip — a visa applied for in advance, an SG Arrival Card submitted just before you arrive, and a Visit Pass (e-Pass) granted at the checkpoint on arrival — plus a passport that meets basic validity expectations. Here's the full picture.
1. The Visa — Applied for Before Travel
Indian ordinary passport holders generally need a Singapore visa before travelling — Singapore isn't visa-free for Indian passports the way it is for many other nationalities. Applications go through an authorised visa application channel rather than being filed directly with Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). See our visa requirements overview and application process guide.
2. Passport Validity
Your passport needs adequate validity remaining beyond your intended stay, along with enough blank pages. This is checked as part of preparing your visa application, but it's worth confirming well before you book travel, not after.
3. SG Arrival Card — Submitted Before You Arrive
Separately from your visa, you must submit the SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before you arrive. It's free, mandatory, and is not a visa — it doesn't replace your entry visa or the need to have one.
4. Visit Pass (e-Pass) — Granted on Arrival
At the checkpoint when you land, you're granted a digital Visit Pass (e-Pass) — emailed to you, with no physical passport stamp since 11 March 2022. This is distinct from your visa; it's issued after the visa and after your SG Arrival Card, right at the point of entry.

What do Indian travellers need to enter Singapore?
Generally: a visa obtained before travel, a passport with adequate remaining validity, and the SG Arrival Card submitted online within 3 days before arrival. On arrival, you're separately granted a digital Visit Pass (e-Pass) at the checkpoint.
Key Terms — Singapore Visa for Indians
Singapore Entry Visa
Pre-travel permission to enter Singapore. Indian passport holders generally need one before travel; it is applied for through an authorised visa application channel, not directly with ICA.
Visit Pass (e-Pass)
Granted digitally at the checkpoint when you arrive in Singapore — emailed, with no passport stamp (since 11 Mar 2022). This is different from the visa itself.
SG Arrival Card (SGAC)
A free, mandatory digital arrival and health declaration submitted online within 3 days before you arrive. It is not a visa and does not replace one.
Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
The Singapore government authority responsible for visa and entry decisions. Visa Expertz assists with preparation and submission only — final decisions rest with ICA.
Social Visit Pass
The official term for a tourist/social Singapore visit — covering leisure travel and visiting family or friends.
Short-Term Business Visit
A visit for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, or trade events. Not a work pass — no employment or salary in Singapore.
Authorised Visa Application Channel
Since individuals in India cannot file directly with ICA, applications are submitted through an authorised channel on the applicant's behalf.
