Singapore Business Visa for Indians
Travelling to Singapore for a client meeting, a supplier visit, a conference, or an industry exhibition? This is the visa category that covers it — a short-term business visit visa, not a work pass of any kind.
What This Visa Is For
The Singapore Business Visa covers short-term commercial travel: attending meetings and negotiations, participating in conferences, exhibitions, and trade events, or making supplier or client visits on behalf of your employer back in India. It's granted for the duration of a specific trip, not as an ongoing arrangement.
What It Explicitly Does Not Permit
This is not an employment visa, work pass, or route to working in Singapore. A short-term business visit does not permit taking up a job, receiving a local salary, or engaging in paid work of any kind while in Singapore — even informally, and even for a company that's inviting you. If your actual goal is employment, relocation, or a longer-term work arrangement, this visa is the wrong tool, and Visa Expertz does not provide employment pass, work permit, or residency services of any kind.
Typical Documents
- A valid passport with adequate remaining validity
- A recent photograph meeting the required specification
- A completed application form
- A letter from the inviting Singapore company describing the purpose, duration, and nature of your visit
- Your travel itinerary and, where relevant, a letter from your own employer confirming the business purpose
See our full documents checklist for a complete breakdown by scenario.
How to Apply
As with all Singapore visas for Indian applicants, this goes through an authorised visa application channel rather than a direct ICA filing. We review your invitation letter and supporting documents, confirm the business-visit category fits your trip, and submit through that channel. Our application process guide and India-specific business visa page cover the mechanics in more depth.
Attending a Specific Event?
If you're travelling specifically for a conference, exhibition, or trade fair, our conference & exhibition page covers the event-registration documents and group applications relevant to that scenario. If you're searching for "Business Visit Visa" instead, that's the same category described here from a different angle — see our Business Visit Visa page.
Fees and Timing
We present fees and processing times as indicative rather than fixed — see our fees and processing time pages, and confirm current figures with us before you finalise travel plans. On arrival, you'll also need the separate SG Arrival Card declaration.

What is a Singapore Business Visa?
A short-term visit visa for Indian travellers attending business meetings, conferences, exhibitions, or trade events in Singapore. It is not a work pass — it does not permit employment, salary, or paid work in Singapore.
Key Terms — Singapore Visa for Indians
Singapore Entry Visa
Pre-travel permission to enter Singapore. Indian passport holders generally need one before travel; it is applied for through an authorised visa application channel, not directly with ICA.
Visit Pass (e-Pass)
Granted digitally at the checkpoint when you arrive in Singapore — emailed, with no passport stamp (since 11 Mar 2022). This is different from the visa itself.
SG Arrival Card (SGAC)
A free, mandatory digital arrival and health declaration submitted online within 3 days before you arrive. It is not a visa and does not replace one.
Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
The Singapore government authority responsible for visa and entry decisions. Visa Expertz assists with preparation and submission only — final decisions rest with ICA.
Social Visit Pass
The official term for a tourist/social Singapore visit — covering leisure travel and visiting family or friends.
Short-Term Business Visit
A visit for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, or trade events. Not a work pass — no employment or salary in Singapore.
Authorised Visa Application Channel
Since individuals in India cannot file directly with ICA, applications are submitted through an authorised channel on the applicant's behalf.
