Singapore Conference & Exhibition Visa
Singapore hosts a steady calendar of trade fairs, industry conferences, and exhibitions that draw Indian professionals — and while there's no separate "conference visa" on the books, the way you prepare your application can look quite different from a standard business meeting trip.
There's No Separate Event-Visa Category
Attending a conference, exhibition, or trade fair in Singapore falls under the same short-term business visit visa covered on our Singapore Business Visa page — Singapore's ICA doesn't operate a distinct category for event attendance. We built this page because the supporting documents for an event trip look different from a one-off client meeting, and it's worth walking through separately.
What It Still Is — and Isn't
It's a short-term visit, full stop. Attending an event, staffing an exhibition stall, or presenting at a conference does not amount to employment in Singapore, but it also doesn't create one — this visa does not permit taking up paid work, a local salary, or any employment arrangement, even if you're being compensated by your own Indian employer for the trip. If the event involves any form of local Singapore payment or an extended work arrangement beyond the event itself, that falls outside what this visa covers.
Event Registration and Invitation Letters
The single most useful document for this scenario is proof of your event registration or an official invitation — a confirmation email from the event organiser, a delegate badge confirmation, or an exhibitor registration letter listing your name and company. This often works alongside, or sometimes in place of, a standard company invitation letter, depending on how the event is structured.
Sponsorship and Exhibitor Documents
If your company has booked exhibition space or is a sponsor, a letter from the event organiser confirming your company's participation — booth number, exhibitor category, or sponsorship tier — strengthens the application. If you're attending as a delegate rather than an exhibitor, the registration confirmation alone is usually the key document, alongside a letter from your employer in India confirming you're attending in a work capacity and returning afterward.
Group Applications for Teams
It's common for companies to send several employees to the same event — sales teams, exhibition staff, or a delegation attending together. We coordinate group applications so each traveller submits their own required documents (passport, photo, form) while sharing the common event registration and company documents, which keeps the process efficient when five or ten colleagues are all travelling for the same trade fair.
How to Apply
The process follows the standard authorised-channel route described on our application process page. Check our documents checklist for the base requirements, and note event dates well ahead — trade fair season can mean a surge of applicants, so applying early is worth it. Contact us with your event registration details and travel dates, especially if you're coordinating a group.

Direct answers for Indian travellers. For anything not covered here, see our full Singapore Visa FAQs page.
Is there a separate visa for conferences and exhibitions?
Not as a distinct official category — attending a conference, exhibition, or trade fair in Singapore falls under the short-term business visit visa. This page focuses on the documents relevant to that specific scenario.
Key Terms — Singapore Visa for Indians
Singapore Entry Visa
Pre-travel permission to enter Singapore. Indian passport holders generally need one before travel; it is applied for through an authorised visa application channel, not directly with ICA.
Visit Pass (e-Pass)
Granted digitally at the checkpoint when you arrive in Singapore — emailed, with no passport stamp (since 11 Mar 2022). This is different from the visa itself.
SG Arrival Card (SGAC)
A free, mandatory digital arrival and health declaration submitted online within 3 days before you arrive. It is not a visa and does not replace one.
Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
The Singapore government authority responsible for visa and entry decisions. Visa Expertz assists with preparation and submission only — final decisions rest with ICA.
Social Visit Pass
The official term for a tourist/social Singapore visit — covering leisure travel and visiting family or friends.
Short-Term Business Visit
A visit for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, or trade events. Not a work pass — no employment or salary in Singapore.
Authorised Visa Application Channel
Since individuals in India cannot file directly with ICA, applications are submitted through an authorised channel on the applicant's behalf.
