How to Apply for a Singapore Visa from India
Indian passport holders can't file a Singapore visa application directly with Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) — applications go through an authorised visa application channel. Here's how the process actually works, step by step.
Step 1: Prepare Your Documents
Start by gathering the essentials — a valid passport, a recent photograph meeting the required specification, and documents supporting your purpose of travel. Our full documents checklist lists exactly what to have ready.
Step 2: Confirm Your Visa Category
Most Indian travellers fall into one of two categories: a tourist/social visit (leisure, holidays, visiting family or friends) or a short-term business visit (meetings, conferences, exhibitions, trade events). We confirm which applies to your trip before anything is submitted — getting this right the first time avoids delay.
Step 3: Submit Through the Authorised Channel
Once your documents and form are ready, we review everything for completeness and consistency, then submit your application through the authorised visa application channel. This is the step Indian applicants can't do directly with ICA themselves — it's the core of what we handle for you.
Step 4: Wait for a Decision
Processing time depends on document completeness, your travel dates, and the channel's current workload — see our processing time page for how to plan around this without a fixed day-count promise. We keep you updated on where your application stands; see our status page for how that typically works.
Step 5: Visit Pass (e-Pass) on Arrival
A visa approval is pre-travel permission — it isn't the last document you'll need. On arrival at the Singapore checkpoint, you're granted a digital Visit Pass (e-Pass), emailed to you with no passport stamp. This is separate from, and issued after, the visa itself.
Step 6: SG Arrival Card Before You Arrive
Separately from your visa, you must submit the SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before you arrive in Singapore. It's a free, mandatory declaration — it is not a visa and doesn't replace one. See our full explainer on how it fits with the visa and Visit Pass.
Where to Start
Share your travel purpose, passport details, and rough travel dates through the form on this page, WhatsApp, or a call. We'll confirm your category, tell you exactly what documents to gather, and take it from there.

What are the steps to apply for a Singapore visa from India?
Broadly: gather your documents, confirm the right visa category for your trip, submit through an authorised visa application channel, wait for a decision, then handle the Visit Pass (e-Pass) and SG Arrival Card around your travel dates.
Key Terms — Singapore Visa for Indians
Singapore Entry Visa
Pre-travel permission to enter Singapore. Indian passport holders generally need one before travel; it is applied for through an authorised visa application channel, not directly with ICA.
Visit Pass (e-Pass)
Granted digitally at the checkpoint when you arrive in Singapore — emailed, with no passport stamp (since 11 Mar 2022). This is different from the visa itself.
SG Arrival Card (SGAC)
A free, mandatory digital arrival and health declaration submitted online within 3 days before you arrive. It is not a visa and does not replace one.
Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
The Singapore government authority responsible for visa and entry decisions. Visa Expertz assists with preparation and submission only — final decisions rest with ICA.
Social Visit Pass
The official term for a tourist/social Singapore visit — covering leisure travel and visiting family or friends.
Short-Term Business Visit
A visit for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, or trade events. Not a work pass — no employment or salary in Singapore.
Authorised Visa Application Channel
Since individuals in India cannot file directly with ICA, applications are submitted through an authorised channel on the applicant's behalf.
